Die internationale katholische Reformbewegung Wir sind Kirche begrüßt es sehr, dass stimmberechtigte Synodenmitglieder sowie theologische Expert:innen aus Europa sich Ende August 2024 in Linz/Österreich (>>>>> und >>>>>) gemeinsam auf die zweite Vollversammlung der Weltsynode im Oktober 2024 in Rom vorbereiten. Die europäische Kontinental­versammlung im Februar 2023 in Prag/Tschechien >>>>>, die Wir sind Kirche und andere Reformgruppen begleitet hatten, ließ noch sehr deutliche Differenzen zwischen den Ortskirchen bzw. Bischofskonferenzen im Kirchenverständnis und in kirchlicher Praxis deutlich werden.

Die römisch-katholische Weltkirche befindet sich derzeit in einer wichtigen Übergangsphase. Anders als das Zweite Vatikanische Konzil (1962-1965), das eine theologische Aufwertung der Ortskirchen intendierte, wurde während der beiden letzten Pontifikate ein zentralistisches Kirchenverständnis verfestigt. Papst Franziskus hat dies in vielen kleinen Schritten revidiert und die Kirche wieder auf den Kurs des Konzils geführt.

Der von Papst Franziskus eingeleitete weltweite Synodale Prozess verfolgt jetzt das Ziel, eine gemeinsame Vision der Ortskirchen von Ämtern, Charismen, Diensten und anderen Formen des Wirkens in der Gemeinschaft der Glaubenden zu entwickeln, und zwar auf der Grundlage der Ekklesiologie des Volkes Gottes des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils. Durch die lange Trennung Europas wurde dieses Konzil sehr unterschiedlich rezipiert. Deshalb ist der theologische wie kulturelle Austausch gerade unter den Kirchen in Europa jetzt so wichtig.

Verantwortung für die Ortskirchen

Wir sind Kirche begrüßt den Vorschlag im Vorbereitungspapier („Instrumentum laboris“) für die Versammlung im Oktober 2024, dass die Ortskirchen „als kirchliche Subjekte anzuerkennen (seien), die mit lehrmäßiger Autorität ausgestattet sind“. Im Rahmen einer vielgestaltigen Kirche sei die „Aufwertung der liturgischen, disziplinären, theologischen und spirituellen Ausdrucksformen (zu) fördern, die auf die verschiedenen soziokulturelle Kontexte abgestimmt sind.“ (97 a)

Aus Sicht von Wir sind Kirche ist es aber genauso wichtig, „wirksame Formen und Verfahren der Transparenz und der Rechenschaftspflicht zu entwickeln, die ... der Vielfalt der Kontexte angemessen sind“ (78). Deshalb ist das Volk Gottes, das Kirchenvolk nicht nur in der Entscheidungsvorbereitung (decision making), sondern auch in der finalen Entscheidung (decision taking) repräsentativ zu beteiligen. Eine synodale Kirche erfordert Veränderungen in den Strukturen, in denen gerade auch Frauen gleichberechtigt mitentscheiden, nicht nur mitberaten können.

Zukunftsfragen für die Kirche

Die intransparente Auslagerung in zehn Studiengruppen einzelner Fragestellungen, die sich aus der ersten Versammlung der Weltsynode im Oktober 2023 in Rom ergab, darf keine Verzögerung dringend notwendiger Reformschritte bedeuten. Vielmehr ist zu hoffen, dass vor allem die sogenannte „Frauenfrage“, wie schon bei der Synode im Oktober 2023 auch jetzt in aller Offenheit besprochen wird. Die Weihe darf Frauen nicht länger verweigert werden! Die Gleichberechtigung der Frauen und queerer Personen ist entscheidend für die Glaubwürdigkeit der Kirche.

Im Ringen um die Zukunft der Kirche sollten pastorale und strukturelle Fragen nicht weiter gegeneinander ausgespielt werden! Die problematischen kirchlichen Strukturen, die zu Missbrauch und Vertrauensverlust geführt haben, müssen dauerhaft korrigiert werden! So wichtig die von Papst Franziskus vorgegebene Grundlinie der Evangelisierung ist: eine wirkliche Aufarbeitung sexualisierter und spiritueller Gewalt ist ein wesentliches Element einer Evangelisierung! Das Evangelium nimmt Partei für die Entrechteten, Geschundenen und Verwundeten. Ohne diese Perspektive läuft jeder Versuch einer Evangelisierung ins Leere.

Modell für Demokratien

In einer Zeit politischer Umbrüche, in der Autoritäten, insbesondere Autoritäten von oben, nicht mehr ohne weiteres akzeptiert werden, könnte die kirchliche Synodalität auch ein gutes Modell für Demokratien sein. Wir sind Kirche unterstützt Kardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Relator der Weltsynode, in seiner Aussage: „Ja, wir brauchen nicht nur eine Theologie der Synodalität, wir brauchen verschiedene Theologien der Synodalität. Wir brauchen die Reflektion, damit die Kirche Gottes rechtzeitig voranschreiten und die Zeichen der Zeit in unserer Welt erkennen kann.“

Europäische Synodenteilnehmende tagen Ende August in Linz >>>>>. Gastgeberin des Treffens vom 29. bis 31. August 2024 an der theologischen Fakultät der Katholischen Privat-Universität (KU) Linz ist die dortige Pastoraltheologin und Dekanin Prof. Klara Csiszar.

Weitere Mitglieder in der Vorbereitungsgruppe sind der Vizepräsident des Rates der Bischofskonferenzen Europas (CCEE), der Belgrader Erzbischof Ladislav Nemet, sowie die Synodenexperten Prof. Christoph Theobald (Paris) und Prof. Myriam Wijlens (Erfurt). Spirituell wird das Treffen von Prof. Tomas Halik (Prag) begleitet.

Aus Deutschland werden die Generalsekretärin der DBK, Dr. Beate Gilles, sowie der Synodenberater Prof. Dr. Thomas Söding teilnehmen.

Vergleichbare Vorbereitungstreffen vor der zweiten Vollversammlung der Weltsynode vom 2.bis 27. Oktober in 2024 in Rom haben auch wieder auf den anderen Kontinenten stattgefunden.

‘Becoming a synodal church together!’

Appeal from We are Church to the European participants of the World Synod 2024

The international Catholic reform movement We are Church very much welcomes the fact that voting synod members and theological experts from Europe will be preparing together in Linz/Austria at the end of August 2024 for the second plenary assembly of the World Synod in Rome in October 2024. The European Continental Assembly in February 2023 in Prague/Czech Republic, which We are Church and other reform groups had accompanied, still revealed very clear differences between the local churches and bishops' conferences in their understanding of the church and church practice.

The Roman Catholic world church is currently in an important transitional phase. In contrast to the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), which intended a theological revaluation of the local churches, a centralised understanding of the church was consolidated during the last two pontificates. Pope Francis has revised this in many small steps and led the Church back onto the course of the Council.

The worldwide synodal process initiated by Pope Francis is now pursuing the goal of developing a common vision of the local churches of ministries, charisms, services and other forms of activity in the community of believers, based on the ecclesiology of the People of God of the Second Vatican Council. Due to the long divisions of Europe, this Council was received very differently. This is why theological and cultural exchange is now so important, especially among the churches in Europe.

Responsibility for the local churches

We are Church welcomes the proposal in the preparatory paper (‘Instrumentum laboris’) for the assembly in October 2024 that the local churches ‘should be recognised as ecclesial subjects endowed with doctrinal authority’. In the context of a diverse Church, the ‘valorisation of liturgical, disciplinary, theological and spiritual expressions adapted to the different socio-cultural contexts should be promoted.’ (97 a)

From the perspective of We Are Church, however, it is equally important to ‘develop effective forms and procedures of transparency and accountability that are ... appropriate to the diversity of contexts’ (78). Therefore, the people of God, the people of the church, must be involved in a representative manner not only in decision making, but also in the final decision. A synodal church requires changes in the structures in which women in particular can participate in decision-making on an equal footing, not just in consultation.

Questions for the future of the church

The non-transparent outsourcing of individual issues to ten study groups, which resulted from the first assembly of the World Synod in Rome in October 2023, must not mean a delay in urgently needed reform steps. Rather, it is to be hoped that the so-called ‘women's question’ in particular will be discussed openly, as it was at the synod in October 2023. Women must no longer be denied ordination! Equal rights for women and queer people are crucial for the credibility of the church.

In the struggle for the future of the church, pastoral and structural issues should no longer be played off against each other! The problematic church structures that have led to abuse and loss of trust must be permanently corrected! As important as the basic line of evangelisation laid down by Pope Francis is, a real reappraisal of sexualised and spiritual violence is an essential element of evangelisation! The Gospel takes sides with the disenfranchised, the maltreated and the wounded. Without this perspective, any attempt at evangelisation will come to nothing.

Model for democracies

In a time of political upheaval, in which authority, especially authority from above, is no longer readily accepted, church synodality could also be a good model for democracies. We are Church supports Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Relator of the World Synod, in his statement: ‘Yes, we don't just need one theology of synodality, we need different theologies of synodality. We need reflection so that the Church of God can move forward in time and recognise the signs of the times in our world."

Background

European synod participants meet in Linz at the end of August. The meeting from 29 to 31 August 2024 at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic Private University (KU) Linz will be hosted by the local pastoral theologian and Dean Prof. Klara Csiszar.

Other members of the preparatory group are the Vice-President of the Council of the Bishops' Conferences of Europe (CCEE), Archbishop Ladislav Nemet from Belgrade, as well as the synod experts Prof Christoph Theobald (Paris) and Prof Myriam Wijlens (Erfurt). The meeting will be accompanied spiritually by Prof Tomas Halik (Prague).

Similar preparatory meetings prior to the second plenary assembly of the World Synod from 2 to 27 October 2024 in Rome have also taken place on other continents.

“Diventare insieme una Chiesa sinodale!”

Appello di Noi siamo Chiesa ai partecipanti europei del Sinodo mondiale 2024
in occasione dell'incontro preparatorio dal 29 al 31 agosto 2024 a Linz

Il movimento cattolico internazionale per la riforma Noi siamo Chiesa accoglie con grande favore il fatto che i membri votanti del Sinodo e gli esperti teologi europei si preparino insieme aLinz/Austria allafine di agosto 2024 per la seconda assemblea plenaria del Sinodo mondiale che si terrà a Roma nell'ottobre 2024. L'Assemblea continentale europea del febbraio 2023 a Praga/Repubblica Ceca, che Noi siamo Chiesa e altri gruppi riformatori hanno accompagnato, ha rivelato ancora differenze molto evidenti tra le chiese locali e le conferenze episcopali nella loro comprensione della chiesa e della pratica ecclesiale.

La Chiesa cattolica romana mondiale si trova attualmente in un'importante fase di transizione. A differenza del Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965), che auspicava una rivalutazione teologica delle Chiese locali, negli ultimi due pontificati si è consolidata una concezione centralizzata della Chiesa. Papa Francesco ha corretto questa concezione a piccoli passi e ha riportato la Chiesa sulla strada del Concilio.

Il processo sinodale mondiale avviato da Papa Francesco persegue ora l'obiettivo di sviluppare una visione comune tra le Chiese locali sui ministeri, sui carismi, sui servizi e su altre forme di attività nella comunità dei credenti, basata sull'ecclesiologia del Popolo di Dio del Concilio Vaticano II. A causa della lunga divisione dell'Europa, questo Concilio è stato accolto in modo molto diverso. Ecco perché lo scambio teologico e culturale è oggi così importante, soprattutto tra le chiese europee.

Responsabilità per le chiese locali

Noi siamo Chiesa accoglie con favore la proposta contenuta nel documento preparatorio (“Instrumentum laboris”) per l'assemblea dell'ottobre 2024, secondo cui le Chiese locali “dovrebbero essere riconosciute come soggetti ecclesiali dotati di autorità dottrinale”. Nel contesto di una Chiesa diversificata, si deve promuovere “la valorizzazione delle espressioni liturgiche, disciplinari, teologiche e spirituali appropriate ai diversi contesti socio-culturali.” (n.97 a)

Dal punto di vista di Noi siamo Chiesa, tuttavia, è altrettanto importante “costruire forme e procedure efficaci di trasparenza e rendiconto, appropriate alla varietà dei contesti” (n.78). Pertanto, il popolo di Dio, il popolo della chiesa, deve essere coinvolto in modo rappresentativo non solo nel processo decisionale, ma anche nella decisione finale. Una chiesa sinodale richiede cambiamenti nelle strutture in cui le donne in particolare possano partecipare al processo decisionale su un piano di parità, non solo alla consultazione.

Domande per il futuro della Chiesa

L'affidamento non trasparente di singole questioni a dieci gruppi di studio, risultato della prima assemblea del Sinodo mondiale a Roma nell'ottobre 2023, non deve significare un ritardo nei passi di riforma urgentemente necessari. Anzi, è auspicabile che la cosiddetta “questione femminile” in particolare venga discussa apertamente, come è avvenuto al Sinodo dell'ottobre 2023. Alle donne non deve più essere negata l'ordinazione! La parità di diritti per le donne e le persone queer è fondamentale per la credibilità della Chiesa.

Nella lotta per il futuro della Chiesa, le questioni pastorali e strutturali non devono più essere messe in contrapposizione! Le strutture ecclesiastiche problematiche che hanno portato ad abusi e perdita di fiducia devono essere corrette definitivamente! Altrettanto importante è la linea fondamentale dell’evangelizzazione stabilita da Papa Francesco: fare i conti veramente con la violenza sessualizzata e spirituale è un elemento essenziale dell'evangelizzazione! Il Vangelo si schiera dalla parte dei diseredati, dei maltrattati e dei feriti. Senza questa prospettiva, qualsiasi tentativo di evangelizzazione è destinato a fallire.

Modello per le democrazie

In un'epoca di sconvolgimenti politici, in cui l'autorità, soprattutto quella dall'alto, non è più facilmenteaccettata, la sinodalità ecclesialepotrebbe essereun buon modello anche per le democrazie. Noi siamo Chiesa sostiene il cardinale Jean-Claude Hollerich, Relatore del Sinodo mondiale, nella sua dichiarazione: “Sì, non abbiamo bisogno di una sola teologia della sinodalità, ma di diverse teologie della sinodalità. Abbiamo bisogno di una riflessione affinché la Chiesa di Dio possa andare avanti nel tempo e riconoscere i segni dei tempi nel nostro mondo”.

Il contesto

I partecipanti al Sinodo europeo si riuniscono a Linz alla fine di agosto. L'incontro, che si terrà dal 29 al 31 agosto 2024 presso la Facoltà di Teologia dell'Università Cattolica Privata (KU) di Linz, sarà ospitato dalla teologa pastorale e decana locale, prof.ssa Klara Csiszar.

Altri membri del gruppo preparatorio sono il vicepresidente del Consiglio delle Conferenze episcopali d'Europa (CCEE), l'arcivescovo Ladislav Nemet di Belgrado, nonché gli esperti sinodali Christoph Theobald (Parigi) e Myriam Wijlens (Erfurt). L'incontro sarà accompagnato spiritualmente dal prof. Tomas Halik (Praga).

Incontri preparatori simili, prima della seconda assemblea plenaria del Sinodo mondiale che si terrà a Roma dal 2 al 27 ottobre 2024, si sono svolti anche in altri continenti.

„Stańmy się razem Kościołem synodalnym!”

Apel We are Church do europejskich uczestników Światowego Synodu 2024 obecnych na spotkaniu przygotowawczym w dniach od 29 do 31 sierpnia 2024 roku w Linzu.

Międzynarodowy katolicki ruch reformatorski We are Church z wielkim zadowoleniem przyjmuje fakt, że głosujący członkowie synodu i europejscy eksperci z zakresu teologii będą wspólnie przygotowywać się w Linzu (Austria) pod koniec sierpnia 2024 roku do drugiego zgromadzenia plenarnego Światowego Synodu w Rzymie w październiku 2024 roku. Europejskie Zgromadzenie Kontynentalne w lutym 2023 roku w Pradze(Republika Czeska), któremu towarzyszył We are Church  i inne grupy reformatorskie,  ujawniło wciąż istniejące bardzo wyraźne różnice między lokalnymi Kościołami i Konferencjami Episkopatów w ich sposobie rozumienia Kościoła i praktyk eklezjalnych.

Kościół rzymskokatolicki na poziomie całego świata znajduje się obecnie w ważnej fazie przejściowej. W przeciwieństwie do Soboru Watykańskiego II (1962-1965), który miał na celu teologiczną odnowę Kościołów lokalnych, podczas ostatnich dwóch pontyfikatów skonsolidowało się scentralizowane rozumienie Kościoła. Papież Franciszek, za pomocą wielu małych kroków, dokonał w tej kwestii zmian i wprowadził Kościół z powrotem na soborowy kurs.

Ogólnoświatowy proces synodalny zainicjowany przez papieża Franciszka dąży obecnie do wypracowania wspólnej wizji Kościołów lokalnych w zakresie posług, charyzmatów, nabożeństw i innych form aktywności we wspólnocie wierzących, w oparciu o eklezjologię Ludu Bożego Soboru Watykańskiego II. Ze względu na długotrwałe podziały w Europie, proces ten został przyjęty bardzo różnie. Dlatego właśnie tak ważna jest obecnie wymiana teologiczna i kulturowa, zwłaszcza między Kościołami w Europie.

Odpowiedzialność za Kościoły lokalne

We are Church  z zadowoleniem przyjmuje propozycję zawartą w dokumencie przygotowawczym („Instrumentum laboris”) na październikowe zgromadzenie 2024 roku, polegającą na tym, by Kościoły lokalne ”zostały uznane za podmioty eklezjalne obdarzone władzą doktrynalną”. W kontekście różnorodności Kościoła należy „promować liturgiczne, dyscyplinarne, teologiczne i duchowe formy wyrazu dostosowane do różnych kontekstów społeczno-kulturowych”. (97 a)

Z perspektywy We are Church równie ważne jest jednak „opracowanie skutecznych form i procedur transparentności oraz odpowiedzialności, które są (...) właściwe dla różnorodnych kontekstów” (78). Dlatego lud Boży, lud Kościoła, musi być zaangażowany w sposób reprezentatywny nie tylko w wypracowywanie decyzji (decision-making), ale także w ostateczne jej podejmowanie (decision-taking). Kościół synodalny wymaga strukturalnych zmian, tak aby szczególnie kobiety mogły uczestniczyć w podejmowaniu decyzji na równych prawach, a nie tylko na zasadzie konsultacji.

Pytania dotyczące przyszłości Kościoła

Nietransparentny przydział poszczególnych zagadnień do dziesięciu grup studyjnych, który dokonał się w rezultacie pierwszego zgromadzenia Synodu Światowego w Rzymie w październiku 2023 roku, nie może oznaczać opóźnienia pilnie potrzebnych kroków reformatorskich. Należy raczej mieć nadzieję, że w szczególności tak zwana „kwestia kobiet” zostanie omówiona otwarcie, tak jak miało to miejsce na synodzie w październiku 2023 roku. Nie można dłużej odmawiać kobietom święceń kapłańskich! Równe prawa dla kobiet i osób queer są kluczowe dla wiarygodności Kościoła.

W walce o przyszłość Kościoła kwestie duszpasterskie i strukturalne nie powinny być już rozgrywane przeciwko sobie! Problematyczne struktury kościelne, które doprowadziły do nadużyć i utraty zaufania, muszą zostać trwale naprawione! Tak samo jak ważny jest podstawowy kierunek ewangelizacji określony przez papieża Franciszka, tak też istotnym elementem ewangelizacji jest rzeczywista ponowna rewizja kwestii przemocy seksualnej i duchowej! Ewangelia staje po stronie osób pozbawionych praw, maltretowanych i zranionych. Bez tej perspektywy wszelkie próby ewangelizacji spełzną na niczym.

Model dla demokracji

W czasach politycznych zawirowań, w których władza, zwłaszcza odgórna, nie jest już łatwo akceptowana, kościelna synodalność może być również dobrym modelem dla demokracji. We are Church wspiera kardynała Jeana-Claude'a Hollericha, Relatora Synodu Światowego, w jego wypowiedzi: „Tak, nie potrzebujemy tylko jednej teologii synodalności, potrzebujemy różnych teologii synodalności. Potrzebujemy refleksji, aby Kościół Boży mógł iść naprzód i rozpoznawać znaki czasu w naszym świecie”.

Kontekst

Europejscy uczestnicy synodu spotkają się w Linzu pod koniec sierpnia. Spotkanie w dniach od 29 do 31 sierpnia 2024 roku, na Wydziale Teologicznym Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Prywatnego (KU) w Linzu poprowadzi miejscowa teolog pastoralna i dziekan prof. Klara Csiszar.

Innymi członkami grupy przygotowawczej będą: wiceprzewodniczący Rady Konferencji Episkopatów Europy (CCEE): arcybiskup Ladislav Nemet z Belgradu, a także synodalni eksperci: prof. Christoph Theobald (Paryż) i prof. Myriam Wijlens (Erfurt). W duchowym aspekcie spotkaniu towarzyszyć będzie prof. Tomas Halik (Praga).

Podobne spotkania przygotowawcze przed drugim zgromadzeniem plenarnym Światowego Synodu w dniach od 2 do27 października 2024 roku w Rzymie odbyły się również na innych kontynentach.

We are Church International (www.we-are-church.org) zostało założone w Rzymie w 1996 roku i jest ogólnoświatowym stowarzyszeniem zrzeszającym krajowe grupy reformujące Kościół. We Are Church International angażuje się w odnowę Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego w oparciu o Sobór Watykański II (1962-1965) i rozwiniętego na nim ducha teologicznego. Katalog reform We are Church został sformułowany w Austrii w 1995 roku w odpowiedzi na skandal związany z nadużyciami kardynała Hansa Hermanna Groëra z Wiednia.
