Bericht von der Jahreskonferenz des Europäischen Netzwerks Kirche im Aufbruch mit Bischof Jacques Gaillot in Lissabon

Zehn Jahre nach der Gründung von Wir sind Kirche - Portugal kam Jacques Gaillot, Bischof von Partenia, zur 17. Konferenz des Europïäischen Netzwerks Kirche im Aufbruch , die vom 3. bis 6. Mai in Lissabon abgehalten wurde. Das Thema war „Das Volk Gottes in einer Welt in Bewegung“.

43 Delegierte aus 12 Ländern, die 21 Organisationen vertraten, sprachen über ihre Zusammenarbeit mit dem Europarat, bei dem die Bewegung eine partizipative Mitgliedschaft als NGO beantragt hatte. Ein Bericht über die Beziehungen zum Europäischen Parlament und zum Europarat bezüglich der Rolle der Religionen in Europa und ihrer Stellung zum Staat während des letzten Jahres wurde vorgelegt.
Die Teilnehmer des Forums Theologie und Befreiung in Nairobi, Kenia, im Januar 2007, das vor dem Weltsozialforum stattfand, berichteten darüber, was sich im Workshop des Europïäischen Netzwerks über „Spiritualität für eine andere mögliche Welt“ ereignet hatte, und der Beitrag dieses Workshops wird in der Zeitschrift des Europäischen Netzwerks „EuroNews“ veröffentlicht werden.
Man kam überein, die Arbeit mit dem polnischen Vertreter fortzusetzen und für zivile und religiöse Freiheiten in Polen zu kämpfen. Man beschloss auch, ein Schreiben zur Unterstützung der Pfarrgemeinde San Carlos Borromeo in Madrid zu verfassen, der von der Madrider Hierarchie mit Schließung gedroht wurde, was eine immense Welle von Protest und Bestürzung zur Folge hatte. Mitglieder der EN werden bei der 3. Europäischen Ökumenischen Versammlung der Kirchen in Sibiu, Rumänien, im September 2007 anwesend sein.
Der Studientag am 5. Mai wurde im Dominikanerpriorat in Lissabon unter Teilnahme einer großen Zahl von Gästen abgehalten, die aus verschiedenen Teilen Portugals kamen.
Bischof Jacques Gaillot hielt eine Rede, in der er seine große Liebe und Einfachheit bezüglich Menschen als Einzelpersonen innerhalb der großen sozialen und kulturellen Unterschiede in der heutigen Welt vermittelte. Er verbreitete Zuversicht und Vertrauen angesichts der dramatischen Veränderungen, die sich in einer in Bewegung geratenen Welt ereignen, und erinnerte die ZuhörerInnen daran, dass Jesus nicht auf eine Kirche beschränkt werden könne, sondern in der Menschheit wahrhaft gegenwärtig sei.
Die feministische Theologin Teresa Martinho Toldy betonte den Wert der Frauen und wie wichtig es wäre, dass sich die Kirche als Institution ihrem Charisma öffne. Die Teilnehmer der Konferenz besuchten eine Einwanderergemeinde in Prior Velho in den Außenbezirken von Lissabon, wo ein von Christen begonnenes Projekt viel zur Verbesserung der Lebensqualität der Gemeinde beigetragen hatte. Ein Buch mit dem Titel Ser Igreia (Kirche sein) wurde veröffentlicht, um den 1. Jahrestag von Wir sind Kirche Portugal zu feiern, das Texte einer breiten Auswahl von Verfassern enthält.
Eine Woche vor der Eröffnung der lateinamerikanischen und karibischen Bischofskonferenz (CELAM) durch Papst Benedikt XVI. in Aparecida/ Brasilien begrüßt und unterstützt das Europäische Netzwerk die Forderung von etwa 100 angesehenen katholischen Universitätsprofessoren nach einer „intelligenten Neugestaltung“ der Glaubenskongregation und nach Verwerfung der vatikanischen Verurteilung der Lehren von Jon Sobrino, eines berühmten und geachteten lateinamerikanischen Befreiungstheologen.
Die nächste Jahreskonferenz wird vom 1. bis 4. Mai 2008 in Strasbourg, Frankreich, stattfinden, mit einem Studientag zum Thema „Beziehungen zwischen Kirche und Staat“. Die übernächste Jahreskonferenz wird vom 30. April bis zum 3. Mai 2009 in London, Großbritannien, stattfinden, mit dem Thema Spiritualität und dem Schwerpunkt feministische Spiritualität.

Ten years after the founding of We are Church - Portugal, Jacques Gaillot, Bishop of Partenia came to the 17th Conference of the European Network Church on the Move held in Lisbon from May 3-6, 2007. The theme was “The People of God in a World on the Move”

Forty three delegates from 12 countries, representing 21 organizations discussed their collaboration with the Council of Europe, as it has applied for participative membership as an NGO. A review was made of the relations over the last year with the European Parliament and with the Council of Europe on the role of religions in Europe and their position with regard to the State.
Those who took part in the Forum on Theology and Liberation, in Nairobi, Kenya in January 2007, previous to the World Social Forum gave an account of what had taken place with respect to the Workshop of the European Network on “Spirituality for another possible world” and the contribution in that workshop will be published in the European Network�s journal “EuroNews”.
It was agreed to continue the work with the Polish representative and fight for civil and religious liberties in Poland. It was also agreed to write to support the parish community of San Carlos Borromeo, Madrid, which has been threatened with closure by the Madrid hierarchy, causing an immense wave of protest and consternation. Members of the EN will be present in the 3rd European Ecumenical Assembly of Churches in Sibiu, Romania in September 2007.
The Study Day on May 5 was held in the Dominican Priory in Lisbon, attended by a large number of people who came from different parts of Portugal.
Bishop Jacques Gaillot gave a talk, communicating his great love and simplicity with regard to people as individuals, within the great social and cultural variety of the present day world. He transmitted confidence and trust with regard to the dramatic changes that are occurring in a world on the move, and reminded the listeners that Jesus cannot be confined to a Church but is a real presence in humankind.
The feminist theologian Teresa Martinho Toldy stressed the value of women and how important it would be if the institutional Church were open to their charismata. The participants at the Conference went to visit an immigrant community in Prior Velho, on the outskirts of Lisbon, where a development project started by Christians, has done much to improve the quality of life of the community. A book titled Ser Igreja (Being Church), was launched, to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of We are Church, Portugal, containing texts by a wide range of contributors.
One week before the Latin American and Caribbean Council of Bishops (CELAM) will be opened by Pope Benedict XVI in Aparecida/ Brazil, the European Network welcomes and supports the demand made by some 100 respected Catholic university professors for an �intelligent reorganization� of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. and repudiate the Vatican�s condemnation of the teachings of Jon Sobrino, a famous and respected liberation theologian in Latin America.
The next Annual Conference will be held in Strasbourg, France, in 2008, from May 1-4, with a study day on the topic “Relations between Church and State”. The next but one Annual Conference will be held in London, Great Britain, in 2009, from April 30 until May 3 with an emphasis on spirituality and feministic spirituality.
